ASC Direct Ltd, the online division of ASC Cartons Ltd the Yorkshire based box manufacture are delighted to announce the purchase of a new BCS-Autobox Quick Set Boxmaker system.
Ashley Power, Production Manager of ASC says “the new machine complements our existing short run machines including three BCS – Autobox machines that we have run successfully for the past 15 years. We now can boost our flexibility within our target markets and further enhance the products that we sell through ASC Direct Ltd, our online sales platform.”
ASC Cartons Ltd has been manufacturing boxes at their Shipley based factory for over 35 years. It employs 45 staff with a turnover of £4.5m. They established their online branding in 2002 and have successfully become one of the leading go-to online box retailers supplying bespoke, fast turnaround boxes throughout the UK.
The new BCS-Autobox machine enables the automation of producing FEFCO 0401 and 0426/7 styles without the need for die cut forms or multiple passes on manual machines. These box styles are proving especially popular with online Customers. The machine automatically sets between box styles and sizes and board grades and produces boxes to exacting tolerances.
Arran Sethi, BCS’s Sales Manager comments, “With this investment, ASC will reduce their double shifted slitting operation by at least 50% as well as making their box production more efficient. The Autobox can Multi out in Length, making stock sheet more manageable”.
Thanks to this type of machine, we have the potential to make a wide variety of custom-made boxes. Moreover, all the boxes we produce are different and this is typically what our customers prefer to outsource.
